mixed diaries
The concept is for each artist to produce one picture every day over the period of time. The format is individually chosen by the artist, who also decides on the artistic implementation.
diaries represents the further development of an initiative by Chrsitine Baumann and Julia Hürter, which was first exhibited in Vienna in 2014 under the title 'diaries 2013 – as days go by'. Since the start of diaries, Michaela Nasoetion (Berlin) and Kenneth Pils (Stockholm) have been included into the project.
Mixed diaries
In this exhibition, we show four months: February, March, April and May 2017 done by eight artists.
Each artist of diaries has invited one guest to participate in the project for one month.

About diaries
The project started in 2013 and now, in the year of 2017, we are in the fifth year of producing one picture every day.
Our intention is to share our ongoing creative process while doing one work every day. Here we want to show the flux of inspiration, the changes and what touches us over a period of time. To invite artists into a daily working process is something we believe is a counter act in our fragmented, visually overloaded contemporary lifestyle. diaries is like a daily island of holding silent in a world of constant stimulation. Working parallel on the same topic in different cities and countries is something we want to get other artists interested in. Our experience so far is that our exhibitions are very popular with the spectators because everybody can connect to it.
The aim is to have one show every year to show the year before. We focus on presenting our diaries at different venues with different participants and explore different presentations of the huge amount of works created. diaries was shown in Vienna and Berlin already. We have shown more than 2000 pictures in one exhibition. A catalogue about the project has been published in 2015.
